First MINI Coupé rolls off the production line
Mon, 11 Jul 2011MINI Coupe - first production car rolls out at Cowley We’ve only recently had the reveal of the new MINI Coupe – well, the production car reveal, that is. We had the first reveal of the MINI Coupe Concept nearly two years ago and, despite the production MINI Coupe looking almost exactly the same as the concept, MINI managed to do the production reveal in two stages – one with swirly disguise round the rump followed by a full reveal a week or three later. Still, all the pre-production marketing flim-flam out of the way, MINI are getting down to actually making the car that promises to be the most fun (modern) MINI so far, and the very first MINI Coupe has now rolled off the production line at Cowley – cue PR opportunity.
MINI Goodwood ‘Rolls Royce’ range to grow
Fri, 29 Apr 2011the MINI Goodwood range is going to grow We finally got the MINI by Rolls Royce – The MINI Inspired by Goodwood – at this year’s Shanghai Motor Show, although it had been on the cards for a couple of years. ‘Inspired by Goodwood’ is a bit less blatant than ‘MINI Rolls Royce’, but it still reflects the prestige and craftsmanship associated with Rolls Royce, as these days Rolls Royce are put together on the Goodwood Estate. When MINI officially revealed the Goodwood, they said they would be building just 1,000 cars, based on the MINI Copper S, but with a non-vented bonnet and custom alloys, burr walnut and cornsilk leather.
2014 Mercedes-Benz S-class arrives
Wed, 15 May 2013Mercedes-Benz has pulled the wraps off of the 2014 S-class at a media presentation in Hamburg, Germany, revealing a technological tour de force that the firm hopes will continue the plush sedan’s traditional dominance at the top of the global luxury car market. Set to arrive in North American showrooms in September, the Mercedes-Benz flagship is charged with the task of replacing not one but two different model lines. On the one hand, it has been developed to fill the role of the previous generation S-class on sale since 2007.
