Driverless Car Project Launched In Land Of The Concrete Cows
Fri, 08 Nov 2013MILTON Keynes might already be famous for its concrete cows and numerous roundabouts, but soon it’ll also be known for its driverless cars. In a project aimed at boosting green technologies, a fleet of 20 driver-operated ‘pods’ will run on designated pathways separated from pedestrians. By mid-2017 it is planned that 100 fully autonomous vehicles will run on pathways alongside people, using sensors to avoid collisions with obstacles.
Pontiac Vibe: GM to kill model in August
Thu, 18 Jun 2009The Pontiac Vibe is meeting its demise in August. General Motors said Thursday afternoon that it will end production of the small wagon as part of its long-term viability plan and the wind-down of the Pontiac brand. Production of Vibes for the 2010 model year began in March.

Thu, 13 Aug 2009The fake Porsche Cayman Shooting Brake - rendered in Maya Turns out that it was all a bit of viral fun created by Jared Holstein, the outgoing editor of TopGear.com. He came up with the idea and got a bunch of Summer Interns in the States to do the donkey work. A digital design student called Matt DuVall used Maya (a digital 3D rendering programme) to create the original image (actually, I’ve been trying to master Maya for ever – must get some tips from Matt!) which incorporated lots of Porsche design themes, and even used a Porsche ‘Mule’ license plate.
