New Volkswagen Golf: World Car of the Year 2013

The VW Golf MK 7 has been declared World Car of the Year at the New York Auto Show, beating Porsche, Mercedes and Toyota to the title. That bunch included cars like the Porsche Boxster, Mercedes A Class and Toyota GT86, so competition was strong, but just as the new Golf had triumphed as European Car of the Year 2013 the Golf was also victorious on the bigger, global stage. Highly exclusive Alfa Romeo Disco Volante revealed

EXCLUSIVE Italian coachbuilder Touring has unveiled its Alfa Romeo Disco Volante, which is a modern interpretation of one of the company’s most famous designs. The new Disco Volante marks the 60th anniversary of the original, but the new car comes with a 4.7-litre V8 engine with 450bhp borrowed from the Alfa Romeo 8C supercar. This means the new Disco Volante can see off 0-62mph in 4.2 seconds and has a top speed of 181mph.

Mullin Museum 'opens,' still no public date

The Mullin Automotive Museum in Oxnard, Calif., "opened" Thursday night with a gala Art Deco affair that did splendid justice to the beautiful cars, photos and furniture inside. Models dressed in period costume with period 'dos draped themselves over what are arguably the world's most beautiful Bugattis, Delages, Delahayes, Talbot-Lagos, Voisins and Hispano-Suizas. Similarly clad guests strolled about the perfect period decor, perfect right down to the Art Deco pillars holding up the ecologically friendly roof.
