BMW X5 buyers beware: you own the UK's most vandalised car. The big BMW has long been a fixture in the top 10 – 7th in 2011, 4th in 2012 – but now it has risen to the top of the table that summarises a nastier side of our society. The data is collected from swiftcover.com's annual Vehicle Vandalism Index, and this year's results highlight a dramatic shift in the type of vehicles listed in the top 10.

CDN and Opel/Vauxhall launch Interactive Design Competition

Opel/Vauxhall today asks students: "What do you think is our lounge style?" as part of a new, interactive design competition being launched with Car Design News. The competition is for students studying at design schools (of any discipline) in Europe, and will be in two stages: Stage 1 is the interior, and then Stage 2 the exterior. It culminates in a display of the work of the finalists and announcement of the two winners at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2011.

Audi A1 – the tease begins + video

Audi have started the tease for the A1 We’ve known the Audi A1 has been coming for years. For goodness sakes, we’ve seen two concepts for it and had the head of Audi’s production plant in Belgium saying (wrongly, as it turned out) that production of the Audi A1 would start in October 2009. But that’s not going to stop Audi playing at ‘Tease’, so with production of the A1 now scheduled to start in early 2010 they’ve started to tease the new MINI-competing Audi.
