Police authorities turning a blind eye to lane hoggers
Thu, 16 Jan 2014REX Features MSN Cars can exclusively reveal that just 13 drivers have been fined for lane hogging on the M25 since new laws were introduced last year – while thousands are still penalised for breaking the speed limit. The news comes following a freedom of information request carried out by MSN to the six police authorities covering London’s orbital motorway, which according to the Department for Transport carries 153,000 vehicles a day. Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 Roadster confirmed
Wed, 01 Jun 2011Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 Roadster outed by the US Government It’s news all Lamborghini fans have been waiting for, the confirmation that Lamborghini are going to chop the top off the LP700-4 and give us the Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 Roadster. To be honest, we weren’t expecting any sort of confirmation from Lamborghini on the Aventador Roadster until later this year, perhaps with a first outing at Frankfurt in September or even Geneva early in 2012. And it’s not Lamborghini who’ve revealed the Aventador Roadster will be with us next year.
Volkswagen e-Golf: MK 7 Golf EV leaks ahead of Geneva debut
Wed, 20 Feb 2013An electric version of the MK 7 Volkswagen Golf – the VW e-Golf – has leaked out ahead of a debut at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show. Even though car industry bosses are sure that battery electric cars have no realistic chance of becoming a mainstream option – and the best-selling EV, the Nissan LEAF, has only sold 50k since 2010 – VW are rolling out an electric Golf at next month’s Geneva Motor Show. The VW e-Golf – with pretty much the same underpinnings as the new Mk 7 Golf with an ICE engine – comes with an electric motor driving the front wheels and offering 115bhp and 199lb/ft of torque, enough to get the e-Golf to 62mph in 11.8 seconds and on to a top speed of just 84mph.
