If you thought that tire manufacturer will just have tires at their stands at SEMA... you probably haven't been to SEMA. The manufacturers' new tires tend to be coupled with spectacular show cars created in partnerships with tuners and coachbuilders, and this year there will be no shortage of show cars sporting the latest tires.

The 2011 BMW X3 - together with required camouflage To say that details have leaked is a bit disingenuous, as the leak has emanated from BMW. So although technically I suppose we should call it a leak because the details are not exactly concrete – and the photos are of camouflaged cars – it’s more of a tease than a leak. The photos tell us not a huge amount – it’s a new BMW X3 with some black and white bits on.

McLaren P1 goes round Top Gear Track with Sergio Perez (video)

We have video of the new McLaren P1 taking on the Top Gear track at Dunsfold in the hands of McLaren’s F1 driver Sergio Perez. We reported from Geneva that Ron Dennis has declared he put the new McLaren P1 round Top Gear’s Dunsfold track a full 10 seconds quicker than the contentious Top Gear lap time set by the Pagani Huayra. So when McLaren sent us a video that declared their new F1 driver, Sergio Perez, had taken the P1 round Dunsfold – and here is the video – we though we might get a proper insight in to just how quick the P1 is.
