Jaguar to end XK production after 18 years
Fri, 07 Mar 2014Jaguar will this summer cease production of the XK 2+2 GT car after 18 years at the top of the Coventry firm’s model range. The decision to stop making the XK comes after the hugely successful launch of the F-Type – which, say analysts, has led to a big fall in XK sales as thousands of buyers queues up to buy the F-Type. Thu, 26 Sep 2013New Jaguar Brand Promo video: David Gandy: Escapism Somebody at Jaguar PR has a fondness for British model David Gandy, and they’ve turned his profile in to an ongoing promo for all things Jaguar in recent months. We had the good Mr Gandy (who hails from the home of Cars UK – Billericay) driving an XK120 earlier this year with Yasmin le Bon in the Mille Miglia, and this time Jaguar are aiming at the ladies with a brand promo video featuring David driving classic Jags but focusing in on the heritage and appeal of the new F-Type in the process. Jaguar introduced the film at the Goodwood Revival earlier this month, but now we get the full release of the film - David Gandy: Escapism – with David explaining his passion for cars – and in particular his passion for Jaguar cars – with the film including not just the new F-Type, but the inspiration for the F-Type – the Jaguar E-Type – and perhaps the most appealing, and rare, Jaguar of all – the Jaguar XK-SS.
A CAR reader’s festival ride in the Jaguar XKR 75
Tue, 06 Jul 2010CAR reader Archie Robertson, from Hertfordshire, won a money-can’t-buy prize at the 2010 Goodwood Festival of Speed thanks to CAR Magazine and Jaguar: an XFR super saloon for the weekend and VIP tickets to Goodwood including an unforgettable ride up the hill. Archie and his wife Judy spent Friday at the Festival of Speed with Jaguar hospitality thrown in. But the highlight of the day was a ride in the new Jaguar XKR 75, sitting alongside Jaguar’s chief chassis guru and driving legend Mike Cross, as he slithered and rocketed up Lord March’s front drive.
