Fiat boss Sergio Marchionne wants to build Mazda cars in Fiat and Chrysler plants around the world. When Alfa Romeo and Mazda revealed last week that they would be developing a new small roadster together – well, Alfa Romeo would take the next generation MX-5 and sculpt on a new body to make a new Alfa Spider – we suggested Mazda would be better of getting Fiat to build their cars. It seems Fiat boss Sergio Marchionne thinks the same.

The Audi A4 Allroad quattro - launches at Geneva in March [ad#ad-1] It looks like Geneva is going to be more of a highlight than the recent Detroit Motor Show, which turned in to something of a sombre occasion. Nissan is replacing the Qashqai n-tec+ with the Nissan Qashqai 360 Edition complete with more equipment including a 360 degree view camera. In fact, the best-selling Qashqai – the Qashqai n-tec+, which accounted for 60 per cent of Qashqai sales in 2012 – managed to out-sell the Ford Mondeo all on its own and sold more than the Hyundai ix35 and Kia Sportage combined.
