Nice group of four photos taken on Santa Catalina Island in the City of Avalon. An archivist has identified this as the 1956 Catalina Island Grand Prix, but I have no documentation.
Photos are 9 by 7 inches, mounted on stiff board.

-#80 Bub Budschat, Matchless 500cc takes a tumble heading toward the Mole.

Identity of locations is from previous owner, taken from a 1957 Avalon Telephone Directory. Identity of riders is from previous owners research.

GM and PSA sign a global strategic alliance (2012)

GM and PSA Peugeot Citroen this evening announced a 'long-term and broad-scale global strategic alliance' which will see the three brands co-develop cars in Europe and, in some cases, globally. Opel/Vauxhall and Peugeot Citroen will start sharing vehicle platforms and components, with the first jointly developed models expected by 2016. The focus will be on small and medium sized cars, MPVs and crossovers, but could in future stretch to include vans and commercial vehicles.

The Geneva ‘concept’ car is tagged 200EX but don’t be fooled by the experimental suffix. It’s the real thing – Rolls’ new £180,000 RR4 saloon (the production name is still secret).

On Thursday, May 10 the automotive world lost a legend. Carroll Shelby died in Dallas at Baylor Hospital. He was 89 years old.
