16T MAINSHAFT ASSEMBLY REMOVED FROM MY 1980 CB900C CUSTOM
Condition as shown. No abnormal wear. Gears, splines, and bearings are good. Engine was running (but had low compression on cylinders 1 and 4 due to bad valves and rings) and transmission was working and shifting fine before I decided to part the bike out.
Most of the rest of the transmission components (countershaft and gears, shift drum, forks, shift pawl, cam plate, pins, cam plate base plate, collar) off this bike are also available, and I will combine shipping.
From what I’ve seen on line, this primary shaft assembly was used on:

Last summer I parted out my 1980 Honda CB900 Custom, which I had owned since 1982. About all that is left are the engine and transmission components, and some miscellaneous parts (foot pegs, wiring harnesses, levers, clamps, brackets, relays, etc.). All of the higher demand parts (gas tank, side covers, exhaust, gages, headlamp, fenders, chrome trim, controls, handlebars, charging system, ignition system, air shocks, brakes, oil pump, starter) have been sold off. However, if there is a specific part you are looking for feel free to ask about it using the “Ask a question” link.
Please don't bid if you want these parts to be new, because they aren’t. But I did take very good care of this bike. The bike was never in an accident. Many of the parts are as good as you’ll be able to find; all of the parts will be good enough to get your bike on the road again. Every part will have something wrong as they are used (and 33 years old). If it's bad, I try to mention it, but I don’t list every scuff, dimple, scratch, pit, or rust spot. Caterham news at 2009 Tokyo motor show
Wed, 21 Oct 2009Caterham surprised Tokyo with the announcement that it will build its first electric sports car. The battery bullet will be either a full electric car or a hybrid and it'll be campaigned in a one-make series in 2011. 'It'll either be a bought-in full electric power pack or we'll buy in an electric hybrid pack and attach it to an existing Caterham engine,' Caterham CEO Ansar Ali told CAR.
Carroll held hostage by Tesla Model S
