Product Notes : How to install the hood on a BMW M5: Bolting the hood to hinges was straight forward, but it did require shims from the dealer to make it level with the fenders. You must drill out the holes in the fenders to allow them to move inward to close the gap between the fender and the new hood. The hood struts from the M5 are too strong they will crack the hood. You can use used struts from E46 M3 because they are for an aluminum hood but to prevent any warpage over time it is best to just use a hood prop. For the hood to close the following need to be done: Relocate power steering pump under the bracket instead of on top of the bracket. Cut away the center support section of the louvers to allow clearance of the factory air boxes. Next the latches need to be installed. One of the mounting holes on each side were able to be used but the holes in the bracket need to be modified for proper adjustment. Once it is adjusted the other two holes can be drilled and riveted using threaded nut inserts. If you do not want to use the carbon fiber kidneys (included) you may use chrome kidneys but all of the mounting clips must be cut off, they can then be epoxied in from the backside. Holes must be drilled for the BMW Roundel or the posts can be removed and it can be attached with 3M double sided automotive trim tape (not included). The washer nozzle holes must be created but there are two layers so the bottom layer must be cut out larger than the top layer, to allow for the nozzle to rotate into place.
