Rain doesn't dampen spirits at Orphan Car Show

With rain falling as the show cars arrived, organizers worried that moving the 15th-annual Ypsilanti Orphan Car Show from its original June weekend to late September wasn't going to work out after all. It was rescheduled last year after heavy rain in June and participants voted to make the change permanent. Warning over congestion charge scam

DRIVERS in London are being warned to look out for unofficial Congestion Charge websites that charge as much as a £6 premium to pay the congestion fee to drive into central London. Following an Advertising Standards Agency (ASA) ruling, the ASA upheld three complaints relating to the paylondoncongestion.co.uk. The ruling said this site was "likely to lead consumers to believe that the web page was an official method of paying the London congestion charge and was affiliated with Transport for London (TfL)." TfL says the case relates to just one of a number of websites that offer to pay the Congestion Charge on behalf of drivers, but these sites are not official payment channels and can charge up to £6 for the service.

Tesla recalls Roadster for short in power cable, fire risk

Tesla Motors is recalling its electric Roadster 2.0 and 2.5 models because a power cable may short and catch fire. The 12-volt cable, located behind the right-front headlight, could rub against the carbon-fiber paneling causing the cable to short, begin smoking and possibly catch fire, Tesla said. The cable is part of a backup system that powers the headlights, taillights, turn signals and airbags if the primary 12-volt cable fails.
