General Motors says Magna's Opel bid has obstacles, RHJ's is easier to accept
Wed, 29 Jul 2009General Motors Co. says a bid for Opel from Magna International faces hurdles while a rival offer from Belgian investor RHJ International would be easier to accept. Writing on GM Europe's Web site, John Smith, GM's chief negotiator for the Opel sale, says Magna's bid "contained elements around intellectual property and our Russian operations that simply could not be implemented." BMW recalls 2002-05 3-series for light defect
Thu, 01 Sep 2011BMW is recalling 241,000 copies of the 3-series in the United States to fix a rear light defect that could lead to crashes. The problem affects rear lights--taillights, brake lights and turn signals--which may only work intermittently. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the recall covers model years 2002 to 2005 of the 325i, the 325xi, the 330i and the 330xi.
