The routing of exhaust gas and cooling water in some complex vessels brought about the development of new types of muffler products. Centek has met these needs with its gas/water separation mufflers. Separation systems are very effective where engines are located amidships or well forward in the hull. They are extremely effective in reducing exhaust noise.

The Centek "Gen-Sep" is used in conjunction with a Vernalift muffler on generator sets. The water drain from the Gen-Sep can be located below the water line to eliminate irritating water splash during overnight moorings.

Photos reveal the all-new Ford Mustang -- of 1979

Fri, 28 Mar 2014

If you need further proof that everything old is new again, just look at the engine options for the upcoming 2015 Ford Mustang. That optional 2.3-liter turbocharged inline-four is generating a lot of buzz; it's expected to help keep the car sporty while cutting down on fuel consumption, and it's going to help the Mustang make headway in overseas markets. Adding a turbo-four to the pony car equation isn't exactly novel: The Blue Oval put a forced-induction motor with the same cylinder count, configuration and displacement in the 1979 Mustang.

New fuel-economy labels will baffle buyers, survey says

Wed, 06 Oct 2010

A survey released this week suggests that revised fuel economy labels proposed by federal regulators will confuse many likely car buyers -- and will emphasize the wrong information. The branding strategy firm Siegel+Gale performed an independent online survey of 456 people over the age of 18 who intended to buy a car in the next three years. Founder Alan Siegel told Automotive News that the survey was not directly requested but has been sent to the EPA and National Highway Traffic Safety Administration during the ongoing public comment period.
