McLaren SLR Edition revealed
Mon, 06 Dec 2010McLaren SLR Edition A year ago – almost to the day – we reported that the very last McLaren SLR had rolled off the production line (well, production floor is more like it at McLaren) and that McLaren and Mercedes were going their own ways – McLaren with the McLaren MP4-12C and Mercedes with the Mercedes SLS AMG. The swansong for the SLR was the SLR Stirling Moss, an SLR dressed up like a silver arrow car from the 1930s, without a roof and only a vestigial windscreen. Rinspeed microMAX
Tue, 11 Dec 2012Rinspeed has revealed its microMAX concept car as its latest Geneva-bound offering, which it hopes will revolutionize urban congestion. The microMAX, designed by Rinspeed boss Frank Rinderknecht, explores the idea of car sharing and is designed to be small enough so that it can easily navigate city environments but uses upright seats to maximize space. The five-seater concept is apparently no bigger than a Mini Cooper and has space for a stroller or shopping cart as well as a coffee maker and refrigerator.
Range Rover Evoque about to go in to production in China – and maybe the new Land Rover Discovery Sport too
Tue, 16 Sep 2014Range Rover Evoque about to go in to production in China It’s been clear Jaguar Land Rover intend to build cars in China – a huge market for Jaguar Land Rover – for some time, but now, with a new factory about to open near Shanghai, that’s about to become a reality. JLR’s new plant in China is in Changhsu and is a joint venture with JLR’s China partner – Chery Automobile – where Chery will be producing JLR cars with a Chery badge on the bonnet. The new plant is due to open in October – with production starting soon after – and as well as producing Chery cars for China JLR will also be building the Range Rover Evoque – JLR’s biggest seller in China – for the local market.
