Jaguar X-Type: 18,000 X-Types recalled in the UK

Sun, 23 Oct 2011

Jaguar X-Type Recall - almost 18k affected over possible cruise control malfunction The Jaguar X-Type, ‘Ford’ Jaguar’s stab at mopping up sales from BMW’s 3 Series and Mercedes’ C Class, is back in the headlines, with Jaguar issuing a recall for 18,000 X-Types in the UK – around 5 per cent of the total X-Type production. The cars affected are diesel-engined X-Type models made between 2006 and the end of X-Type production in late 2009, and the recall concerns the cruise control, which may not respond under certain circumstances. To be fair to Jaguar, the issue with the cruise control failing to respond has not come to light through any complaints from owners, but from an employee of Jaguar.

Is the Jaguar XFR-S on the way?

Thu, 02 Feb 2012

Is the Jaguar XFR-S on the way (2012 XFR pictured) New reports suggest that the Jaguar XFR-S – a more powerful XFR with the output of the XKR-S – is close to production. Last summer we reported that a Jaguar XFR-S was being planned (actually, we also said a Jaguar XJR-S was in the planning too) in order to take the fight back to the Germans, with the latest iterations of the BMW M5 and Mercedes E63 AMG now offering more power than the XFR can muster. The idea of a more powerful XFR wasn’t just wild speculation (or an educated guess as to what Jaguar needed to do to keep in touch with German rivals) but was also based on Adrian Hallmark’s comments that it would be nice to take the power upgrades on the XKR-S and extend them to the XF.

Shelby Supercars SSC TuaTara Interior photos & video

SSC Tuatara Interior photos and video It was back in July that Shelby Supercars revealed that their new supercar wasn’t going to be the Ultimate Aero II, but would get a new moniker – the SSC Tuatara. At the time, Shelby only issued a few photos (well, renderings) of the exterior of the Tuatara, but it looked impressive enough. And even when Jerod Shelby took a real Tuatara to Shanghai a month later to show his new creation to the world’s biggest car market, the doors stayed firmly shut.
