Most of Saleen sold to Michigan group
Wed, 04 Feb 2009The future of specialty carmaker Saleen Inc. is getting a little clearer: Most of the company was sold to a Michigan group last week after being on the block since November. An entity called MJ Acquisitions, which owns parts and engine companies in Michigan, bought Saleen’s performance street-car program, supercharger and aftermarket business from Los Angeles private-investment firm Hancock Park Associates.
Facelifted Lexus CT200h at 2013 Guangzhou show
Tue, 12 Nov 2013Next week is already daft enough, what with the 2013 Tokyo and Los Angeles Motor Shows kicking off on the same day – Wednesday 20 November. Now it turns out there’s a third motor show happening at the same time, the 2013 Guangzhou Motor Show in China. And for some reason, Lexus has chosen Guangzhou to debut the revised CT200h hybrid hatchback.
BMW Concept Coupe
Mon, 15 May 2006BMW unveiled their latest concept in the run up to the contemporary Mille Miglia, a road race for cars that competed during the original event held between 1933 and 1957. The BMW 328 that set the fastest time in 1940, averaging over 100mph, has also provided inspiration for the Coupe Concept, which mixes the older car's silhouette with surfaces closer to the Z4 on which it is based. Powered by BMW's seminal 343PS engine, the car is wrapped with carbon-fibre reinforced plastic (CFRP), whose form is defined by designers using plaster rather than clay "for a closer emotional experience".
