Wed, 23 Nov 2011MG6 gets 4 stars in Euro NCAP tests Just a year ago Geely was making all the wrong headlines when the Geely CK1 scored zero in the Latin NCAP tests. But now, just a year later, the Geely Emgrand EC7 and the MG6 – both made in China – have scored four starts in the last set of Euro NCAP tests for 2011. Apart from being a great result for China, it’s proof – if proof were ever needed – that the Chinese car industry is certainly a force to be reckoned with.
Infiniti M launches at Pebble Beach
Sat, 15 Aug 2009Infiniti has 'Virtually' revelead the new Infiniti M at Pebble Beach Anyway, odd launch or not, this is a big deal for Infiniti. And – for the first time – the UK and Europe will also be getting the Infiniti M, which is Infiniti’s Flagship model, aimed at the Lexus LS and – I suppose – the S Class, 7 Series and XJ, although it is slightly smaller. As we noted from the teased silhouette we saw recently, the Infiniti M seems to take a chunk of its design cues from the Infiniti Essence Coupe, which actually kicked off the Pebble Beach event a couple of days ago.

Thu, 04 Jul 2013The classic Dodge Challenger's most famous movie role was the 1971 box-office success "Vanishing Point." A pastiche of man vs. society, a legendary staple in classic narrative -- as exemplified by such works as "1984," "Fahrenheit 451," "Charlotte's Web," Idiocracy -- "Vanishing Point" was a movie made by those who commonly styled themselves as "auteurs," making a "film" for the corporate overlords at Warner Brothers, who just happened to land themselves some brand-new Chrysler products and ultimately went on to create, as the DVD reissue box art that I found in the $5 movie bin at Wal-Mart claims, "the ultimate car chase movie!" The movie is rife for philosophical introspection, performed as it is by Philosophy 132 majors needing to pass their Humanities requirement and who couldn't find any more copies of "American Beauty" at their local Best Buy. So, ignore the movie.
