This auction is for a new old stock Cessna upper firewall assembly including the cabin heat valve as pictured. The part is marked as being Cessna part number 0553006-207 and is manufactured from stainless steel and aluminum. The part is new old stock having never been installed into an aircraft. It looks like this firewall may have been ordered originally from Cessna as a full firewall including upper and lower portions because the upper portion we are offering for auction is missing the rivets along the lower attachment seam where the lower firewall would attach. This part may have come from Cessna like this, or it may have been separated by a mechanic who decided they only needed the lower portion of the firewall to complete their repair. Either way, this upper firewall assembly is in excellent condition, and will replace your current upper firewall with something that looks just the way it did when it left the Cessna factory.  Please be sure and check your Cessna parts manual to make sure this upper firewall is correct for your aircraft.

This firewall assembly looks to be in serviceable new old stock condition.  As with any "used" part we are selling this firewall assembly  "as is" with no warranty offered or implied. The Port Townsend Aero Museum received this part as a donation from a gentleman who was retiring after a lifetime of owning an aircraft repair business. These parts were part of this "used but serviceable" inventory that he had been hanging onto for many years.

This firewall is being offered for auction by the Port Townsend Aero Museum in Port Townsend Washington. We are a non-profit 501 C-3 organization that is dedicated to the preservation, restoration, and operation of antique and classic aircraft through the involvement of our local youth population. If you have a minute you can learn more about our aero museum on the internet by searching for Port Townsend Aero Museum.

The winning bidder will need to contact us within 24 hours regarding payment. Payment is due within 72 hours of the auction closing. Paypal is our preferred method of payment. Overseas bidders must use Paypal if they win the bid.

Thank you.

Mercedes B-Class gets a facelift for 2015 – debuts at Paris Motor Show

Fri, 12 Sep 2014

The Mercedes B-Class facelift goes on sale today (12 Sep 2014) from £22,575 It seems only five minutes since the second generation Mercedes B-Class arrived, but it’s getting a bit of a facelift – with the emphasis on the ‘bit’ – for 2015, with the main focus being the arrival for the UK of the B-Class Electric Drive which, for many considering an EV from a premium maker, is perhaps a better option than the ‘statement’ BMW i3. Tesla had a big input on the B-Class ED’s electric gubbins, and the result is an electric B-Class that develops 177bhp (and 251lb/ft of torque), enough for a scoot to 62mph in 7.9 seconds (top speed is limited to 100mph). Range, in an ideal world, is 124 miles from the 16.6kWh lithium ion batteries – enough for most commutes.

One lap of the Web: $52 million Ferrari 250 GTO, Alfa Romeo Montreal for sale and more bizarro engines

Mon, 07 Oct 2013

-- Even as the hammer fell on Juan Manuel Fangio's $30 million Mercedes-Benz W196R, we knew that that car wasn't the most expensive one ever sold -- it was merely the most expensive car sold at auction. Other cars were reported to have traded for a bit more in private sales. But now we have word of a car that absolutely blows the sale price of Fangio's little Silver Arrow out of the water: a 1963 Ferrari 250 GTO that sold to an undisclosed buyer for $52 million.

GM to build Cadillacs outside the U.S.

Tue, 07 Jun 2011

General Motors CEO Dan Akerson said Tuesday that the company plans to begin building Cadillacs outside the United States by the end of 2012 as part of its plan to make GM's premium brand a true global nameplate. Akerson said overseas Cadillac production would reduce the risk of foreign-currency fluctuations and allow GM to better manage its supply chain. Although Cadillac long has been sold in China and other international markets, it's produced only in North America.
