This auction is for a Cessna nose gear Shimmy Damper. It is in good used condition. It is not leaking and it has good dampening action. I believe it is Cessna part number 0442612-1, although there is no visible part number on this part. It was removed from a Cessna 172 during overhaul and change to a new Lord Shimmy Damper. This damper should be considered as a candidate for new o-ring seals and new fluid if you want it to perform like new. The overhaul kit for this part costs less than one dollar from ACS, which makes it the least expensive part to repair on your airplane. The shaft on this damper is not corroded or pitted.

As with any "used" part we are selling this damper "as is" with no warranty offered or implied. The Port Townsend Aero Museum received this damper as a donation from a gentleman who was retiring after a lifetime of owning an aircraft repair business. This part was part of this "used but serviceable" inventory that he had been hanging onto for many years.

This shimmy damper is being offered for auction by the Port Townsend Aero Museum in Port Townsend Washington. We are a non-profit 501 C-3 organization that is dedicated to the preservation, restoration, and operation of antique and classic aircraft through the involvement of our local youth population. If you have a minute you can learn more about our aero museum on the internet by searching for Port Townsend Aero Museum.

The winning bidder will need to contact us within 24 hours regarding payment. Payment is due within 72 hours of the auction closing. Paypal is our preferred method of payment. Overseas bidders must use Paypal if they win the bid.

Thank you.

Big news on GM's big SUVs

Tue, 18 Mar 2014

Good news and bad news for General Motors' large cash cows, the full-sized SUVs. The bad news: The massive sport-ute market has shrunk roughly in half to around 300,000 a year. The good news for GM: This drove some competitors either out of market or into the near-niche category, leaving the new-for-2015 Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban, the GMC Yukon and Denali, and Cadillac Escalade with a big share of this very profitable segment.

By Ben Pulman First Official Pictures 09 October 2007 05:41 Does this mean the CR-X is back? Maybe. This CR-Z is still just a concept, but if public reaction is positive, and it should be, then we could see this car in production for the start of the next decade.
