For Sale: Cetrek 780 Autopilot system.  This was removed from our sailboat functional and working.  Electronics upgrade and incompatibility led to its removal.  This auction includes the 780 Pilot control head, course computer, rudder reference sensor and flux gate compass (not pictured).  Mounting hardware for the control head is included.  I'm also including a great deal of written material (installation, user and other manuals) for the 780.  Rare opportunity to get a complete Cetrek autopilot control system (the linear drive is not included) for your own installation or for these rare parts.  Due to the complexity of the original installation, I am unable to remove the wiring but I can likely attempt to provide the purchaser with the connection hardware for the course computer inputs and outputs (example in photos) with some wiring.  Please ask any questions before bidding...free shipping within North America with Buy-it-Now...$40 otherwise to Canada/USA, ask for quote to other countries. Mon, 05 Sep 2011

Skoda MissionL Concept - destined to be the Skoda Lauretta Skoda is on a mission to push its sales through the roof in the next year or seven – aiming for 1.5 million sales, no less, by 2018 –  and part of that strategy is to fill the gap in its range between the Fabia and Octavia. So it’s a good thing the Skoda MissionL Concept fits the bill. Not that we have a great deal to go on with the MissionL Concept, as all Skoda have done so far is send us a short press release and the teaser photo above (which was a lot darker until we sent it through Photoshop).

Volkswagen Brands – enough for now

Mon, 21 Dec 2009

VW boss Martin Winterkorn says Volkswagen has enough brands Volkswagen seems to be on a world domination plan. Audi is expanding with every passing day and the VW Group (Auto Union to be) has an unrivalled list of brands under its umbrella, including Audi, SEAT, Skoda, Bentley, Lamborghini, Bugatti and of course VW itself. It also recently effectively took control of Porsche (after the failed efforts by Porsche to take control of VW) and has just announced a near 20% stake in Suzuki.
