Mark Webber quits Red Bull F1 for Porsche (2013)

Porsche has confirmed it’s poached Formula One driver Mark Webber from Red Bull Racing to race for it at the 2014 Le Mans 24hrs. The 36 year-old Australian has signed a multiple-year contract to drive Porsche’s new LMP1 challenger, which is aiming to give Audi a bloody nose in the world’s most famous endurance event next year. New MINI to be revealed on 18th November – Sir Alec Issigonis’ birthday

The new MINI will be revealed on 18th November A couple of weeks ago, MINI revealed the MINI Vision Concept at the MINI Design Studios in Munich which previews the new Mk3 MINI, although it wasn’t a physical car, just a projected hologram. But the real new MINI isn’t far from a reveal, and MINI has announced that it will arrive on 18th November, which just happens to be the 107th birthday of the creator of the original Mini – Sir Alec Issigonis. The reveal will take place at the MINI Plant in Oxford with a party in London the same evening to celebrate, and on the 20th November the new MINI will be revealed in public at events in Los Angeles and Tokyo ahead of the Tokyo and Los Angeles Motor Shows.

Opel/Vauxhall Corsa The new Opel/Vauxhall Corsa is the most significant new design to be launched yesterday at the press day of the newly reintroduced British Motor Show. The Vauxhall brand is used in the UK, while the Opel brand is used in the rest of Europe The three and the five door versions have similar DLOs to the Astra three and five door versions to give them distinctly different identities to each other, with A-pillars pushed far forward to move the Corsa into a more mono-volume architecture. Influences from the very successful Peugeot 206 are perhaps evident in the lamp graphics and overall 'sporty' image, but the biggest impression is how large this small car is - it's 3999mm long, 1707mm wide and 1488 tall - 150mm longer, and 50mm wider and taller than its predecessor.
