1957 Ferrari sells for record $12.1 million at auction
Sun, 17 May 2009A 1957 Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa once again blew away the competition, setting a world record for cars sold at auction when it fetched an eye-popping $12.1 million on Sunday at an event on the grounds of the Ferrari factory in Maranello, Italy. The Testa Rossa was one of just 22 produced from 1957 to 1958, and the Scaglietti design is marked by prominent pontoon fenders. The cars also were successful racers, winning 10 of the 19 international races they entered from 1958 to 1961.
Toyota conducted fix of Prius brakes but didn't notify drivers
Thu, 04 Feb 2010Toyota Motor Corp., under fire from fresh quality complaints about its popular Prius hybrid, says it conducted a software fix to address reports of slipping brakes. But the world's biggest carmaker didn't notify customers at the time of the change. And it says it is still uncertain how to handle the thousands of Prius vehicles that were sold before the fix.

It is an adaptation of the existing car that seeks to extend the range's popularity in Europe, adding extra cladding around the car's ankles. Like the Audi A6 Allroad, it also features (matt) brightwork for the roof rack and door-mirrors, while the central parts of the front and rear graphics are also lightened for contrast against the grey bumpers.
