Eterniti Motors – the fledgling UK luxury car start-up – has shown its new Hemera SUV ahead of its debut at this week’s 2011 Frankfurt motor show. It’s now become apparent that Eterniti will rebody the Porsche Cayenne 4x4 at its London factory to an even higher spec – they say – than when it emerges from Stuttgart. CDN – Opel/Vauxhall Interactive Design Competition deadline extended

The deadline for the 2012 Car Design News – Opel/Vauxhall Interactive Design Competition has been extended until midnight (00:00 GMT) Friday 11 May. Mark Adams, Vice President Opel/Vauxhall Design, announced the news in a video message to all entrants, in which he reiterated the brief – to design the Opel/Vauxhall Ampera of the year 2020. All students must submit both an exterior and interior design to be eligible to win paid internships within GM Europe, Opel/Vauxhall's parent company.

Third annual World Automotive Design Competition

The third annual World Automotive Design Competition, sponsored by Alias, was hosted by the Canadian International Auto Show in Toronto, Ontario, on February 12. Britain's Coventry School of Art and Design, and Tsinghua University in Beijing, China were the big winners, together garnering seven of the eight prizes. Ninety-four students from twenty design schools from China, Brazil, Japan, France, Korea, England, Wales, Italy, Spain, India, Sweden, the USA and Canada competed to win over US$140,000 in prizes.
