Bugatti takes a pair of Veyrons to Shanghai show
Thu, 21 Apr 2011The growth of manufacturing in Asia has minted more than a few wealthy people--the target audience for Bugatti. The French-based boutique carmaker took two examples of the Veyron to this week's Shanghai motor show--the Asian debut for the Veyron 16.4 Super Sport and an individually customized 16.4 Grand Sport. The Veyron 16.4 Super Sport in Shanghai wears black-colored carbon-fiber bodywork, accented with polished and anodized aluminum trim such as the badges and wheels.
DAB radio in cars and the digital switchover
Mon, 22 Nov 2010Britain's motorists face a £1 billion+ bill to fix their car radios so they work after the digital switchover, a CAR Magazine investigation reveals. The Government plans to switch off the FM signal and move the UK's broadcasting industry to DAB digital radios - mirroring the switchover from analogue to digital televisions. The official target for the digital radio switchover is 2015, but many commentators predict that date will slip as there is a great deal of work to be done before Britain is ready.

Tue, 01 Feb 2011Dr Wolfgang Durheimer starts his new job today; previously Porsche’s R&D chief, Dr Durheimer takes up his post as boss of Bentley and Bugatti on 1 February 2011. Just before he left Porsche, CAR caught up with Dr Durheimer to discover the future he’s leaving behind at the German sports car manufacturer. Dr Durheimer begain his career in the auto industry in 1986, working for BMW as a product manager, product development boss for the Motorrad division, and then as R&D boss.
