The styling echoes the new Chevy Malibu saloon, and the designers claim to have added seven miles to the Volt’s electric-only range by smoothing some of the edges and creases in the original shape. They claim the Volt will now travel 40 miles on electric power, enough for the daily needs of 70 percent of American drivers.
Councils urged to shun yellow lines
Mon, 07 Oct 2013COUNCILS are being asked to cut unsightly yellow lines as part of a Government drive to rid the streets of clutter. Local Transport Minister Norman Baker has urged local authorities to think about using restricted parking zones, instead of automatically opting to use yellow lines to control parking, particularly in single streets and environmentally-sensitive areas in towns and cities. Restricted parking zones require a limited number of signs which tell motorists if they can or can not park and during which times and are considered less intrusive than conventional yellow lines.
Saab plea for Court Protection dismissed – owes €150 million to creditors
Thu, 08 Sep 2011Saab denied Court Protection - there seems no way out We hoped Victor Muller had found a way out of Saab’s financial woes by applying to the Swedish Courts for protection from its creditors while it waited for funds from China to arrive. But the application has hit a brick wall. The district court in Vanersborg said in a statement that there was no reason to believe protection and reorganisation would work for Saab.
