Chevrolet Chevy 216 Straight 6 Cyl Engine 1946 1947 1948 1949 1950 1951 1952 on 2040-parts.com
Ogden, Utah, United States
Chevy 216 cubic inch 6 cylinder engine with transmission and clutch. Runs great, no smoke, knocks, or rattles - does need a tune up. Oil is very clean, no sign of any coolant. No steam in exhaust or any indication of head issues. Currently in a 1952 3100 1/2 ton Chevy pickup, you can hear it run and drive the pickup before you buy if you live anywhere near Salt Lake City UT. I will also email a video of engine running and truck driving if interested. Engine will be sold complete including the bell housing & clutch, 6V generator, oil bath air cleaner, and 6V voltage regulator which are all in good working condition. Will sell the engine, transmission, and original differential as a complete set or any of the pieces separately. All in good original condition. I was told by the previous owner that the engine was rebuilt in the early 80's but I cannot confirm. This engine would be great for anyone wanting to restore an original 40's or 50's Chevy pickup or car. Just needs cleaned and painted and it's ready to go for a driver quality car.
Engine is sold as is. Buy it Now $1000 or Best Offer Transmission is the 4 speed with compound 1st gear. Shifts great with no whining or rattles, sold as is. $400 or best offer Original differential and torque tube is free with either the engine or transmission or both if you want to pay the shipping costs. It is in good original working condition, I was able to get the brake bleeders out and bleed the brakes - brakes work but are in need of complete rebuild. Please don't send payment until we have worked out the shipping details. Most economical method is Dock to Dock freight - I have access to a commercial shipping dock, if we can identify a freight company that has a dock or cross dock close to you it will save $$$$ in freight costs. Please contact me if interested and we can investigate options. I will band the engine and or transmission to pallets and deliver to the commercial dock for $30 each. North America, USA & Canada shipping only. |

Zagato celebrates Aston Martin Centenary with Zagato DBS & DB9 Spyder
Sun, 21 Jul 2013The Aston Martin e DBS CoupĂ© Zagato Centennial (pictured, built for a Japanese entreprenuer Zagato and Aston Martin have a long history of working together to produce very special limited editions of AML cars, from the beautiful DB4 Zagato to the recent V12 Zagato. So it’s entirely appropriate – as this is Aston Martin’s Centenary year – that Zagato produce an Aston Martin Special Edition to mark the event. In fact, they’ve gone one better by producing two special Astons for the centenary – the Aston Martin DBS Coupe Centennial and the Aston Martin DB9 Spyder Centennial.
One Lap of the Web: Nine cars you'll drive in hell, airbag watermelon destruction and luxury, Soviet-style
Mon, 12 Aug 2013-- After carefully weighing the options, Motor Authority has arrived at a list of the nine cars you'll drive in hell. The Aztek is an easy (if misunderstood) target, and the Renault Fuego makes sense on the basis of its name alone but there are a few unexpected additions, too -- like the Tesla Model S, which won't be easy to keep running because “… Hell is a lot like the San Francisco airport--roughly five thousand people and their 25,000 battery-powered devices, all fighting for a pull off Hell's only functional power outlet.” -- Don't ask us why, but we're fascinated with old Soviet steel, from the no-nonsense heavy duty trucks the crappy Cars of the People. The supposedly luxurious, Packard-inspired Chaika M-13 limousine sits somewhere between the two, and you can read a Special Interest Auto article on the car at Hemmings.
