Sabattus, Maine, United States
A friend of mine bought the ORIGINAL body molds for the Chevron B-16.....Lola T-70..and the McLaren M6B-GT.... from Specialised Moldings ....back in the 70's ...When he purchased these they gave him these matching 1/4 Scale cars...I believe these to be knockoffs of the Wind Tunnel Models...These have been in cold storage since then.. a little dirty but in relatively great condition....Extremely rare pieces of old racing history .....There is only ONE of these ....and you are looking at it ...Someone could make an extraordinary display model out of this ..The Chevron measures... 38" long...and 17" wide ...approx. 8" tall.... Back in the 80's... I went to England to Specialised Moldings ...out back in the archives checking out old molds ... what a place ... if you need more info call me ....Pete at... 207-375-4206

Volvo is working on cordless charging for electric cars
Thu, 31 Oct 2013Imagine not having to actually exit and plug in your electric car (assuming you have an electric car to plug in), and instead just parking it over a special parking spot. That's the promise of a new technology that Volvo is working on, and if taken to the mass market once made commercially viable, it means electric cars will be able to recharge just by sitting over a charger built into the parking spot's surface. That would certainly eliminate the need for those bulky upright chargers that are spreading around the country.
Ford Fiesta eWheelDrive gets wheel hub electric motors
Sat, 27 Apr 2013The Ford Fiesta eWheelDrive – a driveable research vehicle built by Ford and German specialists Schaeffler – may be a regular supermini in size, but it points towards a potential future EV which is much more compact and very manoeuvrable. Ford has taken a regular Fiesta and dumped its powertrain, replacing it with a battery bank where the engine would be and fitted a pair of in-hub electric motors on the rear wheels. But the plan is to build new cars with the batteries under the floor which frees up the space under the bonnet which can then be all but removed to create a very compact urban car that still has space for four.
New Mercedes SL (2012) caught on video
Thu, 11 Aug 2011New Mercedes SL 2012 - out Near the Nurburgring We go eight months without a single story on the 2012 Mercedes SL and then two turn up at once. First Mercedes quietly drop the V12 engine from the SL (SL600 and SL63), and now we have video of the new SL on its way to, and on its way round, the Nurburgring. All of which may point towards a reveal earlier than we expected.
