Aston to build cars abroad

By Ben Oliver Motor Industry 03 March 2008 23:05 Aston Martin is to manufacture a major model outside the UK for the first time, CAR Online can exclusively reveal. The iconic British car maker will use the Geneva Motor Show to announce that its new Rapide four-door coupe will be built in Austria by Magna Steyr.The firm’s Graz factory is expected to build up to 3000 Rapides each year, with deliveries starting in early 2010. As with all Aston Martin engines, the £200,000 Rapide’s 6.0-litre V12 will be built in Cologne.

The Subaru XV Black Limited Edition Subaru launched their XV SUV – basically a high-riding Crossover Impreza – back in 2012, and it was a decent offering. But by this summer they were looking to add a bit more fizz to sales and decided there was room to make substantial cuts in the list price of the XV, taking it down by a significant £2300 right across the range. Fiat at the Geneva Motor Show – Abarth Punto EVO

The Abarth Punto EVO - Geneva bound Fiat’s hot Herberts – Abarth – don’t just have the Abarth 500C Convertible to stick on their stand at Geneva, they also have a tweaked and sorted Punto EVO – the Abarth Punto EVO – to get the attention of show-goers. The performance division of Fiat have stuck a bigger turbo on the Punto EVO which ups the output to 165bhp and drops the 0-60mph time to 7.7 seconds. But economy and emissions don’t seem to suffer with the EVO managing 47mpg and emissions of 142g/km.
