This Chevy 383 crate engine by Tuff Dawg Engines would be EXCELLENT for a Street/Strip car, Street Rod, or Weekend Toy. With 505HP @ 5800rpm and 502ft lbs of torque @ 4700rpm this engine has a rough idle and will run on leaded or unleaded 91 Octane pump fuel.

The balanced rotating assembly (typically includes 3.750" stroke crankshaft, forged pistons, file-fit rings, 6" high performance connecting rods, hardened racing rod bearings, race style balancer, and heavy duty flexplate) featured in this engine:

  • 3.750" stroke cast/steel crank
  • 6" I-beam racing rods
  • 10½ to 1 compression forged flat top pistons

More special features of this engine include:

  • Seasoned 4-bolt main block
  • Block has provision for mechanical fuel pump
  • Engine comes with heavy duty race style automatic transmission flexplate - 14" diameter, 168 teeth

NHTSA intensifies investigation into BMW 7-series rollaways

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is widening an investigation into the rollaway crashes of the BMW 7-series that the agency opened in August. NHTSA received reports of 16 crashes involving the vehicle, covering model years 2002 to 2008, with five reports of injuries. NHTSA has a total of 50 complaints of rollaways.

Chrysler to begin building the next Jeep Grand Cherokee in May

Chrysler Group will begin building the 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee--the first salvo in an effort to restore a product-starved lineup--on May 3, CEO Sergio Marchionne said Tuesday. Marchionne told an industry conference in New York that sales of the redesigned Grand Cherokee will begin in July. Chrysler plans to have 100 percent of its existing lineup refreshed or replaced by the end of 2012, as a wave of new products derived from the alliance with Fiat S.p.A.

Multi-Million Euro Results At Coys Classics Auction

THE MONEY flowed thick and fast at the recent Essen Techno Classica classic car show, as Coys auctioneers sold some important cars for significant sums of cash. Headline-grabbing cars included a 1972 Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona Berlinetta that went for €487,305, a 1963 Bentley S3 Continental “Flying Spur” for €170,825 and a 1965 Ferrari 330GT 2+2 for €167,468. Other important classic cars that went under the hammer were a 1962 Jaguar E-Type Series I 3.8 Litre Roadster for €112,637 and a 1937 Bentley 3½ Drophead Coupe by Barker for €109,280.
