Pilkington Vehicle Design Awards 2011
Mon, 11 Jul 2011One student designer has made history by winning the prizes for Best Overall Design and Best Use of Glazing at the 2011 Pilkington Vehicle Design Awards. For the first time in the awards' 24-year history, the prizes were awarded to Adam Phillips, a postgraduate of the vehicle design course at the Royal College of Art (RCA). Phillips, who previously worked as a toy designer for Lego before studying at the RCA, scooped the awards with a concept on the modern family car that uses iPad-style technology called ‘Family Dynamic'.
Fiat Photo Bombs VW on Google Street View
Wed, 16 May 2012Fiat Photo Bombs VW Fiat has managed to park a Fiat 500 right outside VW’s Swedish HQ just as Google Street View cameras pass by. Regular readers may remember Top Gear’s Stig turning up on Google Street View a few years ago as the PR team at the BBC managed to park his Stigness in front of various landmarks just as Google’s Street View cameras passed by. That little trick seems to have inspired Fiat in Sweden (although Fiat aren’t publicly admitting it) to do something similar and, to be honest, much more amusing.

Tue, 14 Oct 2008By Chris Chilton (photos by Radovan Varicak) First Official Pictures 14 October 2008 09:33 These are our first pictures inside the Lamborghini Estoque's cabin – and they show what drivers might expect in the cabin of a Lambo saloon in three years’ time if this Paris motor show concept gets the green light. Swathed in cream leather, the Estoque’s interior is dominated by a huge transmission tunnel that divides the cockpit into four individual zones, each with its own bucket seat. There’s a razor-sharp, angular theme at work in the cabin: even the column stalks are hexagonal.
