Here we have up for sale is a 350 Chevrolet engine in perfect running condition. I'm selling the complete drivetrain, including suspension, steering components, wheels and tires, fuel tank, etc..., as I'm installing a C5 Corvette drivetrain and complete suspension under my '55 Chevy truck this winter. The engine is complete and ready to go, and will even include the alternator, distributor and carburetor. It is a 9.6:1 compression, standard bore short block with flat-top pistons, mildly ported Summit Vortec heads (made in USA by Dart) that I built and installed last winter and drove less than 2000 miles. The specifics include a GM Performance Parts LT4 Hot Cam (hydraulic roller), Edelbrock 600 carburetor, HEI distributor, Summit aluminum intake, etc...  It also includes (if not needed I can reduce the price) a GM factory replacement 700R4 transmission for a 1987-1992 Corvette. It shifts firm and will bark the tires into second without an overly hard shift.

This drivetrain is currently in the '55 Chevy truck and I can take any potential buyer for a test drive provided it is not raining! This engine is impressive and will not disappoint! CASH ONLY UPON PICKUP. I can load onto a standard pickup that does not exceed 6',7". NO SHIPPING.

I can be reached at 724-523-2947, and will accept calls from 9 am 'til 11 pm, eastern time.

I welcome all potential bidders to check my feedback. My feedback from carburetor and parts sales is 100%, and I've sold hundreds in the past few years. I am the owner/operator of a one-man shop and my carbs are built with pride one at a time. Please see my other auctions for more great deals.

      Thanks, Steve

By Tim Pollard Motor Industry 02 June 2008 10:15 Remember we brought you news of the new Nissan GT-R setting a new Nurburgring record of 7min 29sec? Well now you can see the hot lap on video, courtesy of our Youtube film below. It’s not the best quality (it seems to have been filmed from a TV monitor at a Nissan event), but you can see test driver Tochio Suzuki at work in this eight-minute clip as he masters the Nordschleife’s notorious corners.

Ford offers body shells for those who want to restore the classic '60s Bronco

Wed, 09 Jun 2010

One of the forerunners of the SUV craze, the classic 1960s Ford Bronco, is getting a new life. Ford will begin offering body shells for 1966-70 models later this fall, and they're aimed at enthusiasts who want to upgrade, soup up or improve their aging off-roaders. Look for the Bronco shell to make an appearance at SEMA this fall, perhaps with an EcoBoost engine underhood.

2011 Ford Explorer set to debut new curve-control technology

Tue, 29 Jun 2010

During our first test drive, Dave Messih speeds around a curve at 50 mph. His foot never touches the brake, and the 2011 Ford Explorer prototype we're in knocks down a barrier of safety cones. OK, that's fun.
