Chicago Mac Race Safety Equipment Kit, Life Raft, Man Overboard Pole, Storm Jib on 2040-parts.com
Metamora, Illinois, United States
Want to do the Chicago Mac race? Purchasing the required safety equipment is expensive. Here are a few of the expensive items that you can purchase at a significant savings.
- Zodiac 6-man costal life raft, manufactured 2007, recertified 2012. Retails for $3200.00. Yeah, it is not required but don’t be the fool that needs one and doesn’t have it. Lake Michigan can get nasty and you can be many many miles from help. Hypothermia can get to you before help does. A life raft was deployed in the race this year.
- Storm jib, ATN 100 sq ft. Never used and in “as new” condition. Retails for $1180.00
- Jack Lines, will fit boats to 40 ft. Retail $115/pr
- Cable cutter, heavy duty. Retail $150?
- Heaving line, Retail $50.00
- MOM 8A inflatable man over board pole. Last recertified 2015. Retails for $600
That’s a retail value of almost $2100 less the life raft. 50% of retail is $1050 plus $800 for the life raft (needs recertification). Wish I had found a deal like this.
Local pickup is acceptable or will ship to continental US.
