Skoda Yeti UK Prices

Sat, 18 Jul 2009

Skoda has released UK prices and specifications for the Yeti The Skoda Yeti is a much better bet than the recently announced Skoda Fabia Scout – a butched-up Estate with two wheel drive – as it is the real deal, with proper four-wheel drive and the ability to actually do at least a decent amount of soft-roading and, in all probability, make a decent fist of some rougher stuff too. Admittedly, to keep headline prices low, there are two-wheel drive versions too, and these are the bargain priced ones – starting from £13,750 – but you”ll have to pay a fair chunk more to get a full 4×4 – prices on the Skoda Yeti 4×4 start at £17,170 for the 2.0 litre TDi Yeti S. Even the entry-level Yeti E comes with Aircon and remote locking, and the extras add up as you go through the range.

Power comes from a 2.0 litre, four-cylinder turbocharged engine, offering 265bhp. But there is no four-wheel drive on this Scirocco, instead VW has opted to offer the car as a front-wheel drive only, but benefiting from XDS (an electronic cross-axle traction control system).

Plea for 'no drink if driving' this summer

Mon, 11 Aug 2014

AN APPEAL has been made to drivers in the UK not to touch a drop of alcohol if they are going to drive. The call comes as data from the Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO) shows that one in fifteen drivers breath-tested were over the legal limit. Road safety charity Brake has made the plea after figures released by ACPO shows that its national anti-drink-drive campaign in June carried out 63,688 breath tests and 4108 proved positive for excess alcohol or refused a breath test.
