Up for bid is a vintage hardbound 1970 edition Chilton Auto Repair Manual for all 1963 – 1970 American cars – this version also covers Volkswagen vehicles. The manual has 1,400+ pages of maintenance and repair information including general info, specification and maintenance, engine performance and tune-up, engine overhaul, turbo charging, emissions controls, chassis-body-drive train-fuel-electrical-brake-suspension systems with thousands of crisp, clear illustrations and more.  The manual is in great usable condition for its age, but does show some slight signs of use and wear (see PIC). There are some faded or stained pages and the cover is worn looking. On a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being brand new, I’d rate this manual at an easy 8.5 for its overall condition. Buyer will pay a shipping fee for USPS Media Mail with delivery confirmation based on your USA location – Canada residents shipping will be based on International Priority mail as parcel post service is not available. Payments by personal check will ship 5 business days after payment received. Payments by Paypal will ship 2nd business day after payment confirmation received. Don’t have a Paypal account ?  Contact me for other payment options. Good luck bidding !!!

IIHS names safest cars for 2013

Wed, 02 Jan 2013

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety has named the safest cars for 2013, including 13 midsize sedans that qualify for a new “top safety pick+” designation. The designation is given to vehicles that earn “good” ratings for occupant protection in at least four of five tests, with no less than “acceptable” in the fifth test. A new test -- the small overlap test -- was added to assess how the vehicles perform during a front-corner collision with another vehicle or object, such as a utility pole.
