Up for bid is a used Chilton Repair Manual for a 1973–1988 Datsun Nissan 1200 – 210 and Sentra – all US and Canadian models. This 200+ page manual has general info and maintenance, engine performance and tune-up, engine overhaul, emissions controls, chassis, body, drive train, fuel, electrical, brake, suspension systems, vacuum and wiring diagrams and much more with lots of illustrations and step-by-step instructions. This manual is in good useable condition, but does show some minor signs of use and wear (see PIC). On a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being brand new, I’d rate this manual 9.4 for its overall condition. The new Panamera Turbo S is the most powerful mass production Porsche currently on sale – only 918 units of the 918 Spyder hybrid supercar are being built, so we won’t count that.

Mon, 16 Jul 2012It looks like the impressive Lexus LF-LC Concept is heading for production as Lexus tries to inject some sportiness in to their brand. The stunning Lexus LF-LC Concept we saw at the Detroit Motor Show in January was certainly the most impressive Lexus concept for some time, although Lexus made it clear it was just a showcase of what their US designers were capable of envisaging. But we thought at the time that the LF-LC had potential as a proper halo coupe for Lexus (ignoring the stand-alone, madly priced LFA) that could be brought to market as an LS Coupe – the Lexus LC, perhaps?
Post-World War II Japanese tin toys on display in New York
Fri, 14 Aug 2009During the rebuilding of Japan after World War II, a Japanese toy designer took a discarded tin can and molded it into an intricate model car. Just inches in length, it created a phenomenon in the 1940s and '50s in Japan called “buriki.” Buriki is derived from “blik,” which is Dutch for "tin toy." A collection of 70 tin-toy vehicles manufactured in Japan is currently on display at New York's Japan Society Gallery. The exhibit, called “Buriki: Japanese Tin Toys from the Golden Age of the American Automobile, The Yoku Tanaka Collection,” runs until Aug.
