Up for bid is a used Chilton Repair Manual for a 1986–1990 Hyundai Excel and Sonata – all US and Canadian models. This 520+ page manual has general info and maintenance, engine performance and tune-up, engine overhaul, emissions controls, chassis, body, drive train, fuel, electrical, brake, suspension systems, vacuum and wiring diagrams and much more with lots of illustrations and step-by-step instructions. This manual is in great useable condition, but does show some definite signs of use and wear (see PIC). On a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being brand new, I’d rate this manual 8.5 for its overall condition. Where last year's Detroit Auto Show was all about horsepower and luxury, this year's show was more muted, with few truly outstanding cars making shockwaves. The main contender, the Chrysler ME Four-Twelve, didn't create anything like the reaction of the Cadillac Sixteen last year and seemed a bit late to the party, with its massive power and excessive styling. And after all the hype, shouldn't it have been a Dodge, the power brand of DaimlerChrysler, rather than just a Chrysler?For the past couple of years the show has been dominated by truck and SUV launches, so it was good to see the focus shifting back towards cars once again.

The new Citroen C1 (pictured) costs from £8,245 The new Citroen C1 City Car debuted at the Geneva Motor Show last week as Citroen’s take on the Peugeot/Citroen/Toyota City Car and will go on sale in the UK in July with prices starting at £8,245. There is a choice of three trim levels - Touch, Feel & Flair – but if you want the convertible Airscape model you’ll have to have either the Feel or Flair spec. The C1 Touch (from £8,245) comes with remote central locking, electric front windows, MP3 audio, LED running lights, power steering and the usual ABS, EBA and ESP.
