This auction is part of a series of sales I will be making on behalf of my mother in the next few months as she liquidates my late father's collections. He ran a local auto repair shop for the last 22 years and had amassed a considerable quantity of collectibles...mostly classic auto and racing related, but since he was also a lifer in the military, there are some military items too. Dad was a believer that a collection should be enjoyed and not hidden away in plastic on a shelf and as such you will see that some of the items could use a good cleaning, may not contain the original packaging and may even be missing a few parts (but will be priced accordingly). I will describe each item as accurately as I can, but everything is being sold As-Is. Most of the items will be models, diecasts, books and movies...but there will also be some tools, repair manuals and specialty car parts. Stay tuned...

Aston Martin V12 Vantage ends & big changes afoot at Aston Martin

Sat, 04 May 2013

Launched as a limited edition V12 Vantage in 2009, by 2010 Aston decided there was enough demand to make the V12 Vantage a proper part of Aston’s standard offerings, and since then it’s been the same. The V12 Vantage has also spawned a Roadster version (which, we think, stays in production – at least for now) and the slightly bonkers V12 Zagato, which conspired to look a bit too extreme for an Aston and cost an arm and a leg. We know that AM sold around 1200 V12 Vantage Coupes, around 100 V12 Vantage Roadsters and a handful of V12 Zagatos, but now the run is at an end and we do wonder if there will be a replacement?

Bentley Hybrid Concept is a Mulsanne, but it’ll arrive in the new Bentley SUV

Wed, 09 Apr 2014

The Bentley Hybrid Concept (pictured) will debut in Beijing There’s been lots of talk of a Bentley Hybrid for a number of years now, and in 2011 Wolfgang Dürheimer confirmed that hybrid was in Bentley’s plans and that it would be a plug-in. Fast forward three years and we get the Bentley Hybrid Concept, Bentley’s first crack at a plug-in hybrid powertrain all wrapped up in the Mulsanne. But it won’t be the Mulsanne that sees a production version of the hybrid powertrain but, as expected, the new Bentley SUV.

First Sight: Peugeot 907 concept

Fri, 03 Sep 2004

Making its debut at the Paris Motor Show, the Peugeot 907 concept is a two-seater GT coupe, created "with reference to the past, the present and the future", and intended to transcend the Marque's values. The 907 is powered by a 6.0 litre V12 engine delivering 368 kW (500 bhp), positioned longitudinally behind the front axle. Connected by a short propshaft, it transmits its power to a six-speed sequentially controlled gearbox placed longitudinally in front of the rear axle.
