If your car is hard to start, the pull-off is probably at fault.
Replace your pull-off now as the rubber diaphragm will fail someday

What does a choke pull off do?
When the engine is first started, a very rich air/fuel mixture is required because cold fuel does not turn into a gas. The choke at the top of the carburetor provides the richer mixture by closing thus creating an area of low pressure inside the throat of the carburetor which helps to pull additional fuel through the main metering circuit. At idle there isn't enough air flowing through the carb float to pull fuel through the main discharge nozzle. The manifold vacuum rather than normal venturi vacuum helps to draw the extra fuel through the main metering circuit by temporarily choking off the air supply. When the choked engine is cranked, fuel is pulled into the engine through the idle port, the transfer port and also the main metering circuit. Combined with the reduced air supply, it creates the very rich mixture that's needed to start a cold engine. As soon as the engine starts, it needs air to keep running and to offset the very rich fuel mixture. This is why the choke pull-off is important as it is attached to the choke linkage where it pulls the choke plate open slightly as soon as the engine starts. If the choke pull-off is defective because of a vacuum leak or ruptured diaphragm, the engine may be hard to start or stall.
You can adjust the choke pull-off by bending the "U-shaped" pull-off linkage. Do not bend too much as, it may open the choke too far, allowing too much air which will cause the engine to stall.

This is Mercedes’ new CLC, only it's not quite so new. Underneath it’s really the old Sports Coupe with a nose from the C-class grafted on to give it more modern engines and help it pass the latest crash regulations. In fact, the new CLC has exactly the same wheelbase (2715mm) as the old Sports Coupe, and the same size boot. Money.

Porsche has confirmed it’s poached Formula One driver Mark Webber from Red Bull Racing to race for it at the 2014 Le Mans 24hrs. The 36 year-old Australian has signed a multiple-year contract to drive Porsche’s new LMP1 challenger, which is aiming to give Audi a bloody nose in the world’s most famous endurance event next year. What does Mark Webber know about driving a Porsche endurance prototype at Le Mans?

In the new February 2010 issue of CAR Magazine, we join 1979 F1 champion Jody Scheckter for a tour of his biodynamic farm. He’s swapped four star for four-crop rotation in his new life as an organic farmer – and we’ve got the inside line on his Farmula One project. It’s an illuminating feature and the former Ferrari ace still keeps some of the pivotal race cars from his career – including his championship-winning ‘79 Ferrari – near Laverstoke Park Farm, in Basingstoke Hampshire.
