One Lap of the Web: Mister Kei-terham
Mon, 10 Mar 2014-- This Maybach 62 -- which sold for new at the eyeball-detonating price of $467,600 -- has driven around our fair planet a total of one million kilometers. For those who don't believe in Commie measurements, that's 621,000 miles -- or a trip to the moon and back and then halfway there again. Josef Weikinger, from Lichtenstein, loved his 2004 Maybach 62 so much that he found himself watching the odometer click upwards instead of replacing it for something newer and flashier.
Caterham Superlight R600 (2012) first official pictures
Fri, 05 Oct 2012There's never been a forced induction-endowed production Caterham Seven until now, but supercharging is announcing its arrival in the lightweight special in a big way: the new Superlight R600 is the fastest Seven racing car the company has ever built. Competing in the Superlight R600 Championship from 2013, the racer is the most extreme machine yet from Caterham to take to the circuit, but CAR hears there'll be a road legal version along soon for hardcore track day fans. What's the spec of the Caterham R600 Superlight?
Cannonball Run seminar at Amelia Island was one for the ages
Mon, 21 Mar 2011I don't think I've been to a bad car show, and that includes the local Kamaro Klub in the Dairy Queen parking lot. But I tend to judge the shows by the afterglow--how much you remember a day or two after the event. I tend to remember a lot after every Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance, and that is mostly because the founder, Bill Warner, uses his annual North Florida show to do exactly what you and I would do if we ran a big show--invite our heroes to come talk and invite the cars we'd like to look at ourselves.
