This iPod cable allows you to plug an iPod™ into
the Chrysler Dodge Jeep sound system through a 16–pin connector usingthe provided interface
cable.
UCI supports Mini, 4G,
Photo, Nano™, 5G iPod™ and iPhone™ devices. Some iPod™ software versions may
not fully support the UCI features. Please visit Apple’s website for software
updates.
NOTE: • If the radio has a USB
port, connecting an iPod™ to this port does not play the media. For playing an
iPod™, use the separate 16–pin connector port located in the center console. • Connecting an iPod™ to
the AUX port located in the radio faceplate, plays media, but does not use the
UCI feature to control the connected device.
Connecting the iPod™ Use this connection cable
to connect an iPod iPhone to the vehicle’s 16–pin connector port located on the
center console glove box. Once the iPod™ is connected and synchronized to the
vehicle’s UCI system (iPod_ may take a few seconds to connect), the iPod_
starts charging and is ready for use by pressing radio switches, as described
below.
NOTE: • You may have to remove
the connector pin protection cap from the 16–pin connector port, prior to
connecting the cable.
• If the iPod™ battery is
completely discharged, it may not communicate with the UCI system until a
minimum charge is attained. Leaving the iPod™ connected to the UCI system may
charge it to the required level.
Using This Feature By using the optional
connection cable to connect an iPod™ to the vehicle’s UCI 16–pin connector
port: 1) The iPod™ audio can be
played on the vehicle’s sound system, providing metadata (artist, track title,
album, etc.) information on the radio display. 2) The iPod™ can be controlled using
the radio buttons to Play, Browse, and List the iPod™ contents. 3) The iPod™ battery
charges when plugged into the UCI connector.
Controlling the iPod™ Using Radio Buttons To get into the UCI (iPod™)
mode and access a connected iPod™, press the “AUX” button on the radio
faceplate.
Once in the UCI (iPod™)
mode, iPod™ audio tracks (if available from iPod™) start playing over the
vehicle’saudio system.

Renault is to revive the Gordini name, using it on range-topping versions of its Renaultsport Twingo, Clio and Megane hot hatches. The first new-generation Gordini will be based on the Renaultsport Twingo 133, and be unveiled on 25 November 2009 at Renault's premier showroom on the Champs Elysees. Aston Martin announced at 2.00pm today that it is to cut a third of its UK workforce in a response to a slump in sales. The company, based in Gaydon, Warwickshire, said it today launched a consultation with the unions to cut 300 permanent jobs and 300 temporary posts – out of a total of 1850 employees.
