This Chrysler 440 crate engine by Tuff Dawg Engines would be EXCELLENT for a street/strip car, street rod, or your weekend toy. Remove that old 383, 400 or 440 and install this 440 to bring your ride to life! This engine has a semi-rough idle and if running an automatic transmission a mild stall speed converter is recommended. This engine will run on leaded or unleaded Premium pump fuel.

The balanced rotating assembly (typically includes crankshaft, pistons, rings, connecting rods, rod bearings, and balancer) featured in this engine:

  • 3.750" stroke crank
  • 6.760" forged rods with ARP rod bolts
  • 9 to 1 compression pistons so you can run Premium pump fuel - no need to mix fuel

More special features of this engine include:

  • Seasoned 2-bolt main block
  • Deck head gasket surface on block to ensure a good seal
  • New hydraulic flat tappet cam
  • Cast iron open chamber heads
  • New 2.140"Int/1.810"Exh stainless valves with undercut stems for improved flow
  • New 1.440" high performance springs with dampeners set up to match cam
  • New High temperature valve seals
  • New Double row timing set
  • New Oil pump with steel drive shaft and bronze bushing to prevent wear
  • New Brass expansion plugs
  • New Edelbrock Performer aluminum intake manifold
  • All parts are painted separately before assembly for that show quality look

This engine comes completely assembled with oil pan, timing cover, harmonic balancer, valve covers, and an Edelbrock intake manifold.

Chevy vice president Brent Dewar said the company is still ironing out the timing for the launch of the open-air sports car. It's been reported that the car will go into production in early 2011.

NHTSA investigates Volkswagen Jetta diesel for fuel leak

The National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration opened a preliminary investigation on Aug. 2 into 40,000 copies of the 2011 Volkswagen Jetta TDI. NHTSA received seven complaints stemming from leaks between the fuel line and the fuel injectors.
