This auction is for a replacement panel for the front apron of a classic VW Beetle. I bought this for a 1970 VW Standard Beetle.  This will fit a STANDARD Beetle NOT a SUPER Beetle.  This panel will fit a 1968 to 1977 Standard VW Beetle.  Included is an ORIGINAL front apron latch receiver from a classic VW Beetle. The latch receiver is compatible with a 1969 to 1977 Beetle.  This is a GENUINE VW latch receiver from a 1970 VW Beetle not a reproduction. The VW part number for the latch is 152823509B. The latch is suppose to be riveted on the front apron panel. I've checked to make sure that the latch fits or lines up correctly on the panel, which is does. The metal replacement panel was purchased from Rocky Mountain Motor Works about 25 years ago and was kept in dry storage since then – it has no rust, dents or dings but is in like-new condition. It is made with heavy gauge metal similar to original. This is NOT a flimsy made panel from Brazil or Mexico that you can buy today. This panel was purchased to restore a 1970 VW Beetle that never got restored and I don't have the time now to restore one so I am reluctantly selling off my collection of parts – mostly original like the latch that is included with this replacement panel. A genuine VW replacement latch is worth $50.00 but I am starting the bidding just to cover the cost of the panel.  Good luck bidding!

London rush hour 'worst in UK'

Thu, 05 Jun 2014

ANALYSIS of in-car telematics data has revealed that London commuters get the worst deal in rush hour, with average speeds 30% slower than those across other British cities. The study of 20 million miles of telematics data by Direct Line Drive Plus shows that despite London having more congestion-fighting measures than anywhere else in the country, its road-based commuters suffer worse peak time traffic misery than anywhere else. During peak times, cars in Westminster travel at an average speed of just 10.06mph, compared to a figure of 14.38mph across the biggest British cities.
