One Lap of the Web: A rally car drinks beer

Tue, 11 Mar 2014

-- Thierry Neuville was somewhere on his way back to the pits after finishing the final stage of the WRC Mexico when his Hyundai i20 rally car sprung a leak: The hole in the radiator was bleeding coolant at a frightening rate. If Neuville didn't make the 33 kilometers back, he would lose his second place standing behind Volkswagen and all would be lost. But things started to fall apart for Jaguar in the ’70s with the fiasco that was British Leyland, and by trying to emulate Porsche by making each iteration of the XJ an evolution of the original all they managed to do was cement in the public mindset the failings of the XJ.

For starters, almost all the cars in Volvo's current U.S. lineup have been facelifted with the notable exception of the XC90 SUV, which enters its last model year before it is replaced by an all new truck.
