Lamborghini made a promise that it would bring a new car to every major motor show, and the 2012 Paris Motor Show is most definitely a ‘major’ motor show. So we’ve been looking out for what Lamborghini were going to do for Paris 2012, and we were hoping it might be something really special, like the much anticipated hypercar to take on the new Ferrari F70 (which we originally thought would be the Urus until Lamborghini used that for their SUV).

In fact, the best-selling Qashqai – the Qashqai n-tec+, which accounted for 60 per cent of Qashqai sales in 2012 – managed to out-sell the Ford Mondeo all on its own and sold more than the Hyundai ix35 and Kia Sportage combined. The B-segment Aqua forms the smallest member of the Prius family and shares a little its relations' DNA. Its silhouette apes that of the larger Prius as far as its B-pillar, with a smooth transition from hood to screen, but continues to a more conventional, high tailgate to optimize cabin space.
