Audi A2 EV & A1 Range-Extender dropped
Tue, 05 Jun 2012It seems Audi is getting cold feet on its electric car plans with the Audi A2 EV and the Audi A1 Range-Extender reported to be dropped. It’s starting to look as if car makers are waking up to the reality that electric cars are not something car buyers, on the whole, want to spend their hard earned cash on. We recently reported that the BMW range of EVs is being re-thought with the BMW i3 likely to be just a range extender and plans to extend the i-BMW beyond the i3 and i8 Supercar put on ice.
Tennis star Sharapova gets a lift from Porsche racer Webber
Fri, 20 Jun 2014FRENCH OPEN tennis champion Maria Sharapova arrived at a pre-Wimbledon party thanks to Australian race Mark Webber The Porsche 918 Spyder is the most powerful road car, and least polluting, the company has built. The plug-in hybrid super sports car can reach a top speed of 214 mph, sprint from 0 to 60 mph in 2.5 seconds, and it produces so little CO2 that it is exempt from the London congestion charge. Webber arrived fresh from his first outing at the Le Mans 24 hour race with new team Porsche, following his retirement from Formula 1 at the end of last season.
The last Volvo XC90 rolls off the production line to make way for the all new 2015 XC90
Fri, 11 Jul 2014The last Volvo XC90 rolls off the production line in Sweden. When the current Volvo XC90 arrived in 2002 it staked a claim as the perfect family SUV, a role it’s managed to hang on to – more or less – even though the XC90 is now long past its sell-by date. That’s because the 2002 XC90 was so cleverly conceived in the first place, with family-friendly ease of access to the back row of seats, inflatable side curtains for all three rows of seats, an integrated adjustable booster cushion for children, safety belt tensioners for all seats, easy to drive, decent looking and almost classless.
