Previously such systems have been the preserve of sports cars and performance-orientated hatchbacks, and definitely not off-roaders. A 36-gallon fuel tank leads the changes on the 2012 Ford F-150 pickup, which makes for a range of 756 bladder-busting miles without filling up. The FX trim gets a new appearance package, and the availability of a locking rear axle is expanded. The engine lineup is unchanged from that of the 2011 model, with six-speed automatic transmissions as standard equipment.
