This Auction is for a brand new old stock Colgan custom car bra. Colgan created the first car bra in 1961 for German engineers interested in providing a protective cover while road testing cars. Particularly new Porsches. Colgan uses specially formulated vinyl that is tested to withstand extreme temperature changes and its resistance to stones and debris. The vinyl also receives a top coating that shields the vinyl from weathering. The backing is a substrate of super soft porous polyester to keep the paint scratch free. This substrate is not laminated but actually integrated by special process into the vinyl to eliminate any possibility of separation. The fender pad is double padding to assuring a good fit and protection against wear-through. The binding is a soft polyester binds all edges to assure protection against abrasion and gives a quality, finished appearance. Top stitched seams enhance strength and provide a neater appearance. The hooks are designed to assure protection against abrasion. The air deflectors are used to stabilize the cover at high speeds and deflect debris and insects from the cars windshield.  The Colgan custom car bra comes in the original box and sealed instructions for installation.
