Comp Cams Competition Cams 623-16 Machined Steel Race Locks, 7 degree Lock Angle for 8mm Valve Stem Diameter | | | Description These single groove Machined Steel Street Locks with 7 degree lock angle and 8mm valve stem size are perfect locks for GM Gen III/LS1/LS2/LS6 applications. It is critically important to make sure valve locks match the valve size. There should always be a small gap between the two halves of the lock when they are properly positioned on the valve stem. If the two halves fit together without a gap, they are too large. If the locks fit tight to the stem and leave a gap between the middle of the lock and the O.D. of the stem, the locks are too small. Most people believe that the tang inside a valve lock holds the retainer and valve spring in place while the engine is running. This is not the case. The cross-section of material in the tang is not strong enough to withstand open spring loads of 1000 pounds. or more. The sole purpose of the tang is to temporarily locate the lock, retainer and spring relative to the valve until the taper of the retainer can nest around the outside surface of the lock. This creates a “collet” effect that binds the two together. The more spring force exerted on the retainer (as the valve opens), the more force applied by the “collet” effect to keep the retainer and lock in place. Features - Machined steel single groove for GM Gen III/IV applications
- 7 degree lock angle, 8 mm valve stem diameter

Hyundai kicked off the show by unveiling six modded versions of its rear-wheel drive Genesis range. Using SEMA as a platform was the latest step in the Genesis PR push, as Hyundai builds up to the Coupe's US launch next year. 'SEMA is all about OEMs and the aftermarket collaborating,' said John Krafcik, who invited DUB magazine, RK Sport, Street Concepts and other tuners to customise theGenesis.

the Fiat Qubo is now being fitted with eco:Drive - Fiat's economy driving monitor
But as all things ‘Eco’ are the name of the game at the moment (which we’re all in favour of – just don’t use ‘Man-Made Climate Change’ as the reason) Fiat are bolting on their eco:Drive system to the Qubo – but don’t worry it will shove the price up if you’re thinking of getting one – it’s a freebie. The Fiat eco-Drive started out with a launch on the Fiat 500 earlier in the year, and is now available on not just the 500, but the Grand Punto and the Bravo. Basically, it’s a USB stick that you plug in to the car which can then be read by software to tell you how badly you’re driving.
