COMP® Hi-Tech™ Pushrods

The pushrod is one of the most important pieces of the valve train, but all too often it’s taken for granted. Pushrods not only have to be strong enough to not fail, bend or burn up at the ends, they must also match the frequency of all the rest of the parts in the valve train, as well as the rpm at which the engine will be run. Today’s all-out race engines demand the highest quality components at every step, and COMP Cams® Hi-Tech™ Pushrods fill that requirement.

Hi-Tech™ Pushrods feature a one-piece design from .080” wall, seamless chromemoly tubing that ensures the ultimate in strength and durability. Ends are precision formed, yielding added thickness and strength in the critical tip area, while maintaining constant wall thickness and concentricity. The pushrods are then heat-treated for maximum strength to ensure compatibility with guide plates. They are OD ground.
Features & Benefits:
■ One-piece .080” wall chromemoly steel tubing
■ Heat-treated for extended durability & guide plate compatibility
■ Precision formed & reinforced pushrod ends
■ Black-oxide finished with laser-etched part number & length
■ Ideal for street performance & mild race applications

A closer look at the 2015 BMW M3 sedan and M4 coupe: Turbocharged performance is gonna cost you

Wed, 15 Jan 2014

By the time the 2015 BMW M3 sedan and M4 coupe were revealed at the Detroit auto show, we already knew a lot about what to expect from the Roundel's newest generation of high-performance driving machines. It was no secret, for example, that the new M3 sedan and its two-door counterpart, the M4, will be down two cylinders and a few hundred pounds from their predecessors. Now that we've had a chance to get a look at the cars in production trim, here's a closer look at what's under all the aggressively vented fascias, spoilers and M badges.

Gordon Murray Design T27 crash tested

Wed, 19 Jan 2011

The original Smart car probably did more than its fair share to persuade us that small cars needn't necessarily be unsafe. But now Gordon Murray is on the same mission: to persuade us that his titchy T27 city car is as safe as houses too. Gordon Murray Design has just issued its first crash test results, showing a T27 electric car after a crash test at the UK's MIRA industry research lab.  The crash test in question was the European-standard 40% offset deformable barrier front high-speed impact.

Tesla Model S EV UK launch – Tesla considering patent giveaway

Mon, 09 Jun 2014

Elon Musk (pictured) launches RHD Model S in UK The electric Tesla Model S – probably the only electric car that makes sense – has finally been launched in the UK in right hand drive, with the first five Model S customers taking delivery of their cars. With a starting price of £50,280 (after the £5k taxpayer bribe) the Model S represents a real first for EVs; the first EV that can do pretty much anything an ICE car can, and more beside. With a range of up to 312 miles, seating for up to seven (well, 5+2), low running costs, great performance (0-60mph in 4.2 seconds) low service costs, no VED, no congestion charge and, at least until 2015, no BIK for business users, it’s not only almost as practical as a comparable ICE car it’s massively cheaper to run.
